Hey there Impact Maker!
Can you believe we’re already a third of the way through 2025? 😮
As we head into a new month, I’m deep in prep mode for the SHRM Annual Conference in San Diego (June 29–July 2) — where I’ll be debuting my brand-new keynote in a mega session... HR as Chief Disruption Officer: How HR Leaders Can Drive Transformation and Shape the Future of Work.
I’m especially excited about this one because it’s not only a new keynote — it’s the foundation for the book I’m finally writing (yes, it’s happening 🎉). I’ll also be returning with my most popular session, Level Up Your Career: Build Your Powerful Personal Brand for Increased Influence and Impact.
If you’ll be at SHRM this year, I’d love to connect in person!
This Week's Featured Insight
Gallup’s recent report, The Post-Pandemic Workplace: The Experiment Continues, is a wake-up call for anyone leading people in today’s rapidly evolving world of work. Employee engagement has hit a 10-year low, and only 30% of workers feel connected to their organization’s mission or purpose — the lowest ever recorded.
So what’s going wrong — and more importantly, what can we do about it?
In this week’s featured insight, I break down Gallup’s key findings and share seven actionable steps leaders can take now to rebuild clarity, connection, and trust.
If you care about making work meaningful again, this one’s worth your time.

Jennifer on Knowledge as We See It
I joined the team at Powtoon on their Knowledge as We See It show for an episode titled A Leader's Guide to Unlocking Your Team's Productivity.

🎥 Leadership Lessons I Learned From My Horse [Video]
My friend Laurie Ruettimann is always encouraging me to try some video posts on LinkedIn and also to share more of my life with horses.
So I decided to do both, turning a recent ride with my bestie Roxxy 🐴into a lesson on visionary leadership. In this quick, no-glam video, I share what my talented (and opinionated) horse has taught me about the importance of looking ahead and leading with clarity. If you’ve ever wondered how a horse can make you a better leader — this one’s for you.
The Backstage Pass
A peek behind the curtain into what I’m loving, learning, or laughing about lately.
Recently, I asked ChatGPT to imagine what my horses would look like if they were people. The results? Pretty accurate, if I do say so myself. Roxxy, with her strong expression and leather jacket, and Nahla with a sweet face and flowy gown, captured them perfectly!
Naturally, I couldn’t stop there… so I flipped the script and asked what I would look like as a horse. Let’s just say the response leaned heavily into my golden "Disney Princess hair.” IYKYK. 😄
Want to try it for yourself? Upload a photo of your pet to ChatGPT, and try this prompt: “Can you show me a picture of what my (dog, cat, etc.) would look like if they were human?”
Bonus points if you reverse it and ask what you would look like as your favorite animal.
