LinkedIn Secrets: How to Discover Your Join Date and Member Number

Hey there Impact Maker!

I’m a long-time LinkedIn Super Fan.

In fact, LinkedIn is one of the longest relationships I’ve ever been in. 😉

Longer than my first marriage. Longer than any job I’ve ever held, and longer than my two horses have been alive.

LinkedIn officially launched back in May 2003, and I created a profile on the platform way back on May 12, 2006. Over seventeen years ago, I was the 5,852,039th person to do so, and now there are almost 1 billion profiles on LinkedIn.

Whoa.

Thankfully, like the best long-term relationships, this partnership has been a mutually beneficial one.

I’ve paid for a premium LinkedIn account for over 15 years, and I’ve created engagement and time on their platform from my thousands of connections who have interacted with the Groups, Company Pages, and posts that I’ve created over the years.

In return, LinkedIn has shaped my career in major ways since I joined, and has helped me to learn from, connect with, and build real relationships with many of the people who have mentored, sponsored, and encouraged me along the way.

In this week’s featured post, I share a bit more about how LinkedIn has played a role in helping me to get paid to speak, and eventually start a business as a professional speaker.

I also share links to where you can find out the exact date that you joined LinkedIn, as well as what your member number is.

If you choose to go on that adventure, hit reply to this email and let me know when you joined and/or what your member number is!

If you're not using LinkedIn to its full potential, I encourage you to do so. It's a powerful tool that can help you achieve your career goals. (And they didn’t have to pay me to say that!)
