Ready to Lead Smarter in 2025? Let’s Do It Together.

Hey there, Impact Maker!

If you’re new here — welcome!

And if you’ve been here a while, you might be thinking: “Hey, is this a new email from Jennifer?” (It is. And I’m glad you’re still here. ❤️)

I’m reintroducing the weekly Impact Makers newsletter with a simple goal: to bring you fresh insights, bold ideas, and practical strategies to help you become a more impactful people leader, grow your influence, and thrive in the ever-evolving world of work.

Whether you're shaping the future of HR, running a business, growing your personal brand, or giving more presentations (virtual or in-person), this space is for you.

Each week, I’ll share something to help you:

  • Lead with greater clarity, confidence, and impact
  • Drive transformation and disruption through people strategy
  • Build a personal brand that attracts opportunity and amplifies your influence
  • Become a more confident, compelling, and effective speaker or presenter

If that sounds like your kind of inbox companion, I’d love for you to stick around!

This Week's Featured Insight

If you're leading a business or HR team today, you've probably seen a dozen AI headlines just this week. But beyond the buzzwords, what does AI actually mean for the way we lead, hire, and build the future of work?

In my latest LinkedIn newsletter, I share why you don’t need to be an expert to start using AI — but you do need to stop waiting. I also outline what AI can do well, where humans remain irreplaceable, and how small to mid-sized businesses can take practical steps to integrate AI tools without the overwhelm.

3 Resources For You This Week

✍️ What Exactly Is a Thought Leader? by Michael Port - Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer of Heroic Public Speaking

Want to become a recognized thought leader in your field? It’s more than just expertise — it’s about challenging the status quo and generating truly original ideas. It’s not about having all the answers, but about asking the right questions. This blog post reveals the key to unlocking your "visionary" potential and establishing meaningful credibility.

📚 Leapsome’s 2025 HR Insights Report

This report offers a global snapshot of what 1,000 HR professionals are prioritizing in 2025 — from skills-based org design to AI integration and employee development. If you’re leading people strategy or preparing your team for the future of work, this one is worth a close read.

🗄️ Deloitte’s 2025 Global Human Capital Trends

I look forward to this report every year — and the 2025 edition delivers. It explores how organizations can unlock “boundaryless HR,” lead through constant reinvention, and embrace human sustainability to thrive in the future of work.

The Backstage Pass

A peek behind the curtain into what I’m loving, learning, or laughing about lately.

In late 2024, I made a commitment to prioritize my health and get more active — after years of convincing myself I was getting plenty of exercise because I have two horses and ride 4–5 times a week. (Spoiler: it turns out you actually have to move your OWN body to see real benefits. Who knew?)

So, I got influenced by a YouTuber and bought a walking pad during a Black Friday sale on Amazon. Then, I set a simple goal: walk at least 10 minutes every day.

Game. Changed.

Turns out, the key for me was just getting started — keeping the commitment small, consistent, and easy enough that it became non-negotiable. I recently shared some reflections (and results!) after 150 days of walking over on LinkedIn if you’d like to check it out.

Hey there Impact Maker! As the Chief Excitement Officer of DisruptHR, disruption is always top of mind for me. The world — and the world of work — is in a constant state of change. Sometimes that brings innovation, momentum, and fresh ideas. Other times, it just feels like one curveball after another. So what do we do when uncertainty becomes the norm and predicting what’s next feels impossible? I believe it’s time for leaders — especially those who work in HR — to double down on leading...
